For the last 5+ years, I have run a small cleaning business. I am not sure why but for some reason, I enjoy cleaning, organizing, and helping others stay up on their housekeeping needs. When I found out I was pregnant with my second child, I became completely obsessed with using ONLY non-toxic products. I wanted to try a healthier option for myself, my baby, and my clients.

My go-to is vinegar, water, and essential oils. I love lemon, peppermint around Christmas time and lavender essential oils. I pick up an empty spray bottle and get Vinegar (HEINZ) from Stop & Shop and do half water, half vinegar and a few drops of whichever essential oil I choose. It works wonders. I like to purchase the oils through Pure Haven Essentials because I trust the company and know they are safe.

I also make sure to check the EWG site. I have the app on my phone and check to see if a product is safe. If it scores a (1) or an (A) then I am on board and I will usually buy it. This mix is great for bathrooms, kitchens, mirrors, windows, and it gets rid of those disgusting odors.

A few things to NOT clean with vinegar are:

  1. Granite.
  2. Marble.
  3. Hardwood Floors.
  4. Phones or Computers.

If you are looking to go non-toxic, then I suggest using vinegar, water, and your choice of essential oils.

Stay tuned for more non-toxic house cleaning ideas. I have a bunch of them up my sleeve and I can’t wait to share them with you.

I have made a couple of bottles for my friends and family for the holidays. Check it out below.
