Yay! Autumn is officially here, the third season of the year! I love this time of year. I love the smell in the air, the falling leaves, the weather becomes a little cooler, and my youngest son’s birthday is in October. So we get to celebrate him in the middle of the month and then start to get ready for Halloween, which is always a fun thing to do when you have children.
You have an excuse to buy lots of chocolate and share it with trick or treaters on Halloween. What’s better than that?
Then November rolls in, and we have Thanksgiving. November is when we get to celebrate with family and friends and share what we are most thankful for. It’s truly an exciting time of year.
If you are struggling with the season change, keep in mind, it is temporary. But, as with most things, it won’t last forever, so let’s try to enjoy it; there is so much to be grateful for this time of year.
Here are some reasons to be grateful for this time of year:
Beautiful leaves falling from the trees
Time to take out the rakes. Act like a kid again and play in the leaves
Pumpkin Everything – donuts, coffee, muffins, cookies, pie
Hot apple cider
Apple and pumpkin picking
Carving or decorating pumpkins
Sweatshirts and sweaters weather
Days get shorter; nights get longer
Decorating for Halloween – fun time with your kids
Shopping for costumes
Lots of chocolate
Decorating for Thanksgiving
Family and friends gather together
It’s not happiness that brings us gratitude
It’s GRATITUDE that brings us happiness.
